What is a cabin hook?
With so many different types of latches, handles and hooks, it is sometimes hard to tell one from the other. A cabin hook is a type of latch that comes in two parts: firstly a hooked bar that is permanently attached to a bracket and secondly an eye-screw (also called a receiver) that the hook slots into. They are used for holding doors, gates and shutters open or closed. Using cabin hooks is a great way to prevent the wind from blowing doors open and shut on windy days!
How do you install a cabin hook?
Cabin hooks are relatively easy to install. The first thing you need to do is to decide on the best position for the cabin hook which really comes down to your personal preference.
