Choosing the right shower curtain rods and rails

Our shower curtain rails are available in three finishes: polished stainless steel, polished brass and antique brass (anti-tarnish polished brass), so you can choose the one that best matches the style of your bathroom and your other bathroom fittings. 

If your bathroom is more traditional, you may decide on the antique brass, but for a more modern, contemporary look you may prefer to go with the polished stainless steel or polished brass rail.

As all showers are not made the same, we make our shower curtain rails in a variety of shapes, including straight, L-shaped, curved, circular, a semi-circle shower rail and many more. And all showers are not a standard size either. You may have a small shower, a corner shower, a double shower or a shower-bath combination, so we make our rods and rails in a range of lengths as well. 

If we don’t have the size you need, custom sizes can be made to fit your specifications. You will need to allow 15 to 20 business days for these orders to be manufactured. How long is a regular shower curtain?

The standard size of a shower curtain is usually 180cm by 180cm, but many brands make them in other sizes too. For example, if you need your curtain to be longer than the standard size, many places also sell extra-long curtains. 

The great thing is, if it’s too long, depending on the material it is made out of, it can often be easily cut to the correct length. 

What about shower curtain hooks?

At Restoration Online we sell two different types of durable and stylish shower curtain hooks, both from the reputable brand Tradco Hardware. 

• Chrome: The first style is our shower curtain rings with a chrome finish. These are designed to complement our collection of stainless steel rails, but they will also fit a standard shower rod. They are first made of solid brass, and then plated in quality chrome, and what’s even better is they have a tarnish-resistant finish which is ideal for the bathroom. 
• Solid brass: For a more traditional look, we also sell solid brass hooks which are made of quality solid brass and then polished to give them a golden shine. They match well with our range of brass rails but, as with all our curtain rings, they will also suit most standard rails. 

These seem like such a small detail, but they can make a big difference to the overall look of your bathroom.
