Kitchen Knobs
Our kitchen cabinet knobs range from simple round designs to classic brass, glass and porcelain styles. Brass knobs look lovely against painted cabinetry, while chrome, nickel and black finishes offer plenty of choice for traditional and modern kitchens. If you prefer something more decorative, glass or porcelain can bring a little character to your cupboards.
Knobs, pulls or a mix of both?
You can use knobs on both cupboard doors and drawers, but a mix often works well: knobs on the doors, with kitchen pull handles or cup pulls on the drawers. Cup pulls are a natural pairing with traditional knobs; simpler pull handles can suit a cleaner, more modern look.
For a coordinated combination, look for knobs and pulls in a similar finish. A pull handle may also be easier to grip on a heavy drawer or tall pantry door.
What size kitchen knob should I choose?
A knob around 30–35mm in diameter or width is a good starting point for a standard kitchen cupboard door or drawer. Smaller knobs can suit small drawers, while a larger knob may be more comfortable on a bigger cupboard. This is a guide to the size of the knob itself, rather than its base or fixing screw.
Shape matters too. If you like an ornate or faceted design, think about how it will feel in your hand on cupboards you use every day. A smooth round knob is a simple, comfortable option.
Replacing existing cupboard knobs
If you are keeping your cupboard fronts, measure the base of the old knob and look for any marks around it. A new knob can be wider at the front yet have a smaller base, leaving those marks visible. Choose a base that covers them, allow for filling and refinishing, or consider a knob backplate in a suitable size.
Most cupboard knobs fix through the back of the door or drawer with a single screw. When changing from a two-hole pull handle to a knob, you will usually have an extra hole to fill or cover.
Kitchen knob FAQs
An exact match is not essential. For a coordinated kitchen, aim for a similar colour and sheen to your tapware. Different brands sometimes use different names for very similar colours, so the finish name alone does not tell the whole story.
If you are unsure, ask our team for help finding the closest match. You can also mix finishes if you love the combination; it comes down to your personal preference.
A fixing screw is supplied to suit most cupboards. If it is too long for your cupboard door or drawer front, you can source a shorter screw with the same thread locally, or have the supplied screw cut down on site. Taking the knob and screw with you to a hardware store will help you find the right replacement.
Yes. If you are choosing between styles or finishes, buying one first lets you see it against your cupboards and try the grip at home. You can then order the rest with confidence.
Yes, provided the fixing suits the drawer or door. Decorative ceramic and crystal knobs can look particularly lovely on a dresser or bedside cabinet, even if you prefer a simpler style in the kitchen. Our furniture knobs collection has more options for those projects.
We recommend an extra knob or two when fitting out a whole kitchen. If you ever need a replacement, you will have the same design and finish ready, even if the range has since been discontinued.
