Casement Window Fasteners
From the Anvil have a large range of stunning casement fasteners in beautiful designs and finishes. Casement fasteners are designed to be used on single or double casement windows. They are supplied with different keepers to suit all types of casement windows. Most models are lockable with a grub screw.
A standard keeper will be used for installation like this:

Espagnolette Window Handles
Espagnolette window handles look very similar to a casement window fastener, however they are supplied with a spindle that when the handle is turned, operates a latch inside the window, making these more secure than casement fasteners. Espagnolette window handles are designed for casement windows, however, can also be used on awning windows. For most models, you will need to select either left or right hand.
Right-hand means that when you are inside the room, the window is hinged on the right.
Left-hand means that when you are inside the room, the window is hinged on the left.
For an espagnolette window handle to work, you require a lock. There are few options for this:
- Espagnolette Window Lock (25mm backset)
Similar to a latch inside a door, when the window handle is turned, the lock retracts.

When the window handle is turned, the centre claws lock securely into a very substantial centre keep whilst two shootbolts lock into the corners of the window, making it very secure.

- BZP Excal Gearbox (available in 22mm and 25mm backsets)
These work the same as the above, however are designed for use on a window with a centre mullion when central locking is not required.

What is a grub screw lock?
A grub screw lock is a small screw that when tightened into place with an allen key, stops the handle from turning.
What is a backset?
A backset is the distance from the edge of the window to the centre of the espagnolette handle (the centre of the spindle). The larger the backset, the further from the edge of the window the handle will sit.
