Restoration Online Turns 18: A Huge Thank You from Our Team

On July 3rd, Restoration Online turns 18. That’s 18 years since our very first online order — and what a journey it’s been.

We launched back in 2007, when online retail was still in its early days. From the beginning, our goal was simple: make hard-to-find home hardware and fixtures available to everyone in Australia — no matter where they lived. What set us apart then still sets us apart now. We’ve always been an online-only business, delivering to regional and remote locations long before it became the standard.

How It Started

Restoration Online was founded by Dennis and Connie — a builder and stylist duo who spent years building and renovating traditional homes. While working on their own projects, they began sourcing beautiful fittings from overseas and saw a gap in the Australian market. They decided to start an online store — a bold move at the time.

Two years later, their daughter Erin joined the business, bringing a more tech-focused approach and helping take the website to the next level. Over time, the business has grown into a team of dedicated product, customer service, and tech specialists. Many of us have been here for years, and we’ve built something we’re genuinely proud of.

What We Do

Today, we offer over 25,000 products — including decorative hardware, door and window fittings, lighting, switches, sinks, and tapware for the kitchen, bathroom, and laundry.

We’re known for our wide range of restoration-style pieces — especially for Federation, Victorian, Bungalow, and Queenslander homes — but we also offer hybrid and modern options suited to Hamptons, country, and contemporary homes. Whether you're restoring a heritage property or adding character to a new build, our goal is to help you get the details right.

Many of our items are exclusive to us in Australia, and all are carefully selected with quality, design, and compatibility in mind. Every order is hand-checked by our team to help avoid mismatched finishes or incompatible parts — it's just one of the ways we aim to offer genuine support behind the screen.
