What is a rebated door? Rebated doors are double doors that overlap (meet) with a lip on the vertical edge.

Keying Alike:
Normally, each cylinder (lock) is supplied with a different key number. If you wish for the same key in different locks, choose the keying alike option.

Construction Keying:
Each cylinder (lock) is keyed to 2 different keys, one for the homeowner, and one for the builder. The builder’s key is used during the construction of the house and is unique to each builder (not each build). The homeowner key is used once the house has been handed over and is unique to each build. Once this key is put in the cylinder and turned left, it will cancel out the builder’s key. When the builders key has been cancelled out, it will not unlock that particular cylinder.

Master Keying:
Each cylinder (lock) is keyed to 2 different keys, a master key and a regular key. All the cylinders that have been master keyed can be opened and operated by the master key. The regular key will only be able to unlock a selected number of locks. This type of keying is useful when trying to limit access to areas of a building by giving different people different keys.
