The Gothic Covered Escutcheon features a beautiful beeswax finish. This unique finish not only protects the metal but also gives it a subtle, matte richness, showcasing the natural colors of the steel. The beeswax finish is applied by dipping the escutcheon in hot beeswax, preserving the beautiful colors left in the steel after forging. It's a softer alternative to black powder-coated finishes, adding a touch of authenticity to your door hardware. Due to the handmade nature of this product, all measurements are approximate. To maintain the beeswax finish, occasional re-coating with ‘Maintenance Wax’ (33002) is recommended. Please note: The beeswax finish may leave a wax residue and can cause black marks on surfaces.
